What’s your preferred screen? Given a choice between TV, a laptop, PC, tablet or mobile, what would be your first choice of screen that you couldn’t do without? Well research just out has shown that if you’re under 34, and despite its size limitations, the answer is mobile.
Research from Weve, Vodafone, O2 and EE’s joint mobile marketing network has revealed that almost half (46%) of 18-34 year olds consider mobile to be their first and most important screen.
Results showed that for that age group, mobile is the no.1 choice for interacting with online content, outdoing laptops and PCs by just 3%.
The research carried out by One Poll, surveyed 2,000 adults nationwide and showed that among the wider age group of 18-55, a PC or laptop was seen as their preferred screen with 39.8 per cent putting either device at the top of their list, while smartphones were the runners up on 28 per cent.
Young people always lead the way when it comes to the adoption of new technology. Mobiles are clearly favoured by the younger generation as it is their way of communicating with their friends, to engage with social media and to also listen to music and watch videos all via a small device that fits in their pocket.
Bypassing the younger age group demographic (only by a few years I might add) my preferred screen has to be TV, closely followed by my trusty smartphone. What’s yours?
