Love it or loathe it, today is Halloween! Not one to miss an opportunity to blog about the obvious, today’s spirited offering is a roundup of the best Halloween related PR stunts.
And there have been some great ones too! Those that caught my eye include one executed by Kelloggs’s Ireland to help launch their Malloween and Totally Shocklately Rice Krispie Squares. Kelloggs installed a ‘haunted’ vending machine in the Dublin Institute of Technology university campus and at CHQ, a shopping centre in Dublin.
The vending machine offered free Rice Krispie ‘Scares’ and fulfilled this promise by having someone sat in the machine whose job it was to grab the hand of the person as they reached to get their chocolate treat! Yikes!
Another equally hair raising stunt was pulled off in the run up to Halloween by Fox International Channels in Japan to mark the start of a new series of ‘The Walking Dead.’ The stunt saw over 1,000 ‘Zombies’ swarm Tokyo Tower, one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks.
Much to the surprise of the city’s commuters and residents, a tribe of bloody, black-eyed Zombies covered the grounds of the tower in central Tokyo having made their journey across town on business and trains.
No such excitement on the streets of Macclesfield today, but I did spot some cute little pumpkins and a couple of ghosts! Watch this space for next week’s bonfire related blog entry!
Happy Halloween!
