An extra special flight for WestJet passengers

The Skout blog regularly likes to feature our favourite PR stunts, but extra special praise goes to Canadian airline WestJet for what might just be my favourite PR stunt ever!

You may well already know what I’m talking about as the stunt has gone viral and is being shared far and wide on Twitter and Facebook and is one of the most heartwarming festive videos you might ever see on the Internet.

Passengers on two WestJet flights were asked to scan their boarding passes at a special screen and as they did so, Santa appeared and asks the travellers what they would like for Christmas. And because the screen was used to process the boarding passes, Santa was able to surprise everyone by knowing their names as he was speaking to them. Very clever….and it gets better!

Having got over the excitement of speaking to Santa and taken their flights to their destinations, the passengers were further surprised by a very special treat as they collected their baggage from the carousel. You can watch the video here to see what happens.
