This month in ‘Meet the Skout’ we find out more about account director, Fiona Whyatt
Why was PR your chosen career?
It wasn’t! It kind of chose me. After my publishing career came to an end, I was looking for an alternative path and an opportunity to join a PR agency came up. Many, many, many years later, and I’m still in PR!
If you hadn’t chosen a career in PR what would you be doing?
As a child I wanted to be an actress, but now as grown up I think I’d like to have been a primary school teacher, only so that I could put together the annual nativity play and live out my acting dreams through my little pupils.
What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
Don’t burn your bridges! PR is a small world.
If you won the lottery, how would you spend it?
Travel to lots of far flung destinations; make sure all my friends and family are well looked after; and support a few of my favourite charities.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?
Being a chambermaid! Very hard work and I didn’t really enjoy cleaning up after other people.
If you were an animal what would you be and why?
A flamingo – they are glorious looking creatures and live in fabulous parts of the world.
If you could, would you live forever and why/why not?
Only if I could freeze time at a certain age, I wouldn’t want to just carry on getting older and older.
Who are your top three dream dinner party guests?
Alan Carr to make me laugh.
George Michael (RIP) to sing to me.
Jamie Oliver to cook for us!
