A good bit of festive PR for Asda today as it announces that staff are to be offered ‘nativity leave’ to ensure that parents don’t miss their children’s school Christmas productions.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported on this today following a survey of 5,500 Asda mums revealed that one of working parents greatest concerns is missing out on milestones like their kids’ school nativity play due to work commitments.
And as it’s the season of goodwill, Asda is also extending its festive time off offer to those want time off to go Christmas shopping or to see friends – they don’t need to give a specific reason.
The ‘Mumdex’ research also revealed that traditional values are still more important to mums on Christmas day than technology with 35 per cent planning to ban it from the Christmas dinner table this year. Good luck with that for those whose kids receive tablets, smart phones or other gaming devices from Santa this year!
