An introduction to Data and analytics

We have many years of experience working in the B2B data and analytics market, offering communications expertise to providers of data services including archiving, digital storage, data migration, governance, consultancy and analytics.

Data has become the most valuable of business assets driving insight and intelligence but also underpinning digital transformation and automation. As a result we have witnessed huge growth in the markets for our clients in this space. Using a range of B2B PR, marketing and communications agency skills we’ve helped them capitalise on this opportunity and achieve success.

With more and more data being produced, processed, and interrogated continually for business answers, the sector shows no signs of slowing. We can help your business take advantage of this too.

Our work in this area

Content campaign to boost SEO following a website redesign

Qbase helps organisations to realise the full value of their data assets and build their data infrastructure so that it can be used to provide insights and analytics to optimise automated customer journeys.

Having grown from being a company that originally simply compiled, managed and licensed marketing lists, its current services include business intelligence and analytics, data management and integration, and campaign orchestration.

Qbase was keen to boost its SEO rankings and ensure that it was coming up in searches that reflected its full capabilities. And so, we proposed a campaign to produce high-quality content in line with the keyword research.

We based our content programme around their four partners to showcase their software and demonstrate how Qbase could support its customers in using them. For each partner, we created a pillar blog covering an overarching topic that would sit on the Qbase website. This was linked to shorter related ‘cluster’ blogs that explored sub-topics in more detail. A social campaign was used to drive traffic towards them.

One of the partners was Apteco Marketing Suite, which analyses data to identify trends and audience segmentation. By addressing the features and benefits of the software, (and focusing on the end customer needs), our content achieved a high level of impact.

International brand building through the global media

Based in South Korea, Tridge is an ambitious digital sourcing and market intelligence hub for the global agri-foods sector, providing rich market insights to food buyers and suppliers. With the food sector being one of the most complex from a trading perspective, Tridge wanted to attract large conglomerates as well as venture capitalist investors through awareness and digital validation of the brand.

We put Tridge’s data to work alongside other story assets, to create compelling angles for the top food, commodities, tech and data journalists internationally. We also developed a media nurturing programme designed to target and build ongoing relationships with key publications. To maximise opportunities, we worked closely with Tridge to monitor industry trends and seasonal themes to ensure stories were relevant to the media agenda.

Telling B2B stories with data

Vielife, a global provider of health solutions that drive business improvements, approached Skout when it was looking for a B2B PR agency to increase brand awareness in the UK. It wanted to win strong national and trade media coverage, to increase market authority and drive sales of its online corporate health and wellbeing management platforms.

In response, we set our sights on national mainstream media coverage, but to get that we needed a strong story with a wide focus. We worked closely with Vielife’s Chief Medical Officer to analyse and interpret data contained in 40,000 personal UK worker health assessments in the Vielife platform. This uncovered the impact that lack of sleep was having on people’s ability to work effectively. The result was the attention-grabbing storyline that UK workers were ‘sleep drunk’.
